Is there any small public ponds in East Texas that is good for float Tube fishing?
Q. I know Rusk State park has a good small lake and the Neches River has some good pools but I would like to know other spots I agree Texas has great lakes. I have a 15 foot Jon boat with a 15 horse 4 cycle engine for lakes like Palestine, Lake Tyler, Caddoo Lake Sam Rayburn, Whitney Cleaburn, Cedar Creek Lake fork etc. I want small ponds for my float tube. I will probably use it a lot at tyler State Park as I live near it and go there very often. But still for float tubing I prefer small ponds. I have fished the large lakes 40 years and know most of them. I just don't know of any small ponds.

A. how far are you from lake pat cleburne? or whitney? the upper end of whitney is nice. don't limit yourself to just small ponds. texas has the best bess fishing in the world in it's lakes. just don't go too far off shore. "fishing buddy" makes a good depth finder for tubing.

A. Looks like there is a lot more insane people in Texas. I'll take note of that, thanks. (Actually I was looking at the pictures of Otty's little son and I can't imagine someone doing what she did. It broke my heart.) I need to edit to add: this shows more of a huge gaping hole in the maternity care system in this country. In England Nurses come around to your house every day for weeks to assist in baby care and make sure you dont have the baby-blues. Much less post-partum psychosis.

I have spent 30 years as a member of the armed forces, U S Army (ret). I have been to many other countries and the US is becoming a battlefield itself. I had told my brother to be careful because of the crime in the streets. He was only trying to be a father and a good husband providing for his family. I am a long haul over the road truck driver and find myself in danger as well. Question why is it a law that a driver cannot carry a weapon to protect himself because of motor regulations. A. Because of the practice of our government to treat every problem that the citizens have as if they are children, and the government is the "parent". What I mean to say is when one person ( A driver of a truck or other vehicle) uses a gun out of...for example: road rage, the government punishes the whole population because of the individual. That is on MOST things. Take the seatbelt laws for instance. Children on school buses are not required to wear them because it would not be cost effective...LOL. So the children are exempt. Or if someone uses a vehicle to run over someone and kill them, you don't see a law passed to take away vehicles from people because it would hurt the economy. It's all about money and control.
