What is the best automotive shop in San Antonio, Texas?
Q. I live in San Antonio, Texas and I need to take my car in for an oil change and to have it checked out to see if anything needs to be replaced. I'm looking for a VERY reliable shop with GREAT service. Does anybody know a good automotive shop in San Antonio, Texas? Thanks and God Bless! My car is a 1994 Acura Integra LS, all stock.

A. I don't live in San Antonio. But I can give you the same advice I give other people. Ask people you go to church with. Ask your kid's school teacher. Ask your co workers. Where do they go. Most importantly why do they go there. Have they been taking their cars there for years? Do they take all their cars there? Have they ever had any trouble with that shop, and if so, was it remedied in a fair manner. You are looking for a garage that has been in business for years and that people take their cars there regularly. Not just because they get a good deal, but because they get good work. And the shop stands behind their work. Don't be afraid to ask people where they go to. And when you decide where you want to go make sure you tell that shop " [cont.]

Where exactly does the flooding occurs in San Antonio Texas?
Q. Hi, i am planning to move to the city of San Antonio Texas, within a period of six months. I have done my research as far as where to buy a home and the nicest areas in San Antonio Texas. But as we all know, disasters happen everywhere. I need some feedback, as far as where the flooding takes place. And any recommendations or advices as to what to expect when moving to San Antonio. Thanks alot for your time,
Asked by UNLEASH - Sun Dec 3 22:58:04 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Keep an eye out for the high water markers, usually an indication that flooding has occurred in that area several times. Try to make sure that the property you buy is somewhat elevated. I did not have any flooding on the north side of town - by the airport.

What are the specific knife laws in San Antonio Texas?
Q. The question is pretty simple. I just want to know what is legal and illegal to carry/own in San Antonio Texas.
Asked by ROBERT R - Mon Mar 30 15:52:21 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. While Texas has pretty lenient laws on knives, San Antonio's are a frankly kind of nuts. According to San Antonio law, you cannot carry any knife out in public if you are 16 years old or younger. (Article vi. Sec. 21-155) You also cannot carry any folding knife out in public that has a locking mechanism for keeping the blade open. Exceptions exist for being on your own property or business, engaging in sport activity, or using it for your job (Article i sec. 21-17). OMG, write your city councilman! That's a terribly worded law. You are of course subject to Texas state law as well. Switchblades and Butterfly knives are illegal in Texas. Funny when you consider it's legal to own and carry a gun(s) if you have a permit.

Does San Antonio, Texas have easy to use public transportation?
Q. I'm visiting a relative who will be graduating from basic training at Lackland air force base in Texas. I'm wondering if it's easy to get to the base from San Antonio's city center without having to rent a car. I'd like to use public transportation during the trip to hit most tourist spots and the air force base. Is that possible?
Asked by jdubbubble - Wed Feb 18 22:58:48 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yes there are buses that go to Lackland. You may have to do a bit of walking, however, to get from the base entrance to the graduation. Bus 65 takes you to Lackland, and 611, 612, 613, 614, and 615 take you by there. I suggest that you take a taxi from time to time or have one of his friends' parents or friends drive you around a bit. It's a bit of a hike. As far as downtown goes... All the tourist attractions are really close together, so you'll have no problem.

A. You might try checking in the San Antonio Yellow Pages under "Dance Schools" or "Dancing Instructions". Her choices of dancing styles are good choices... Except , I suggest that hip-hop is not a good choice, the music in the last few years has not made it in the top 25 of song sales in the last few years. And plus that type of music is being so associated with the street gangs of urban society. With gloried images of the violence, drug culture, thugs, etc. And the "Stop Snitching" thing they came up with saying "Don't talk to the Cops of any crime that our boys did or we'll be coming for your head."

San Antonio Texas - Sea World and different activities with kids?
Q. My family, which includes my 9 year old son, will be traveling to Sea World in San Antonio Texas in April. We have never been to Texas, so I was wondering if anyone could share any information with me. Any recommendations on hotels, if we should stay near the airport or near Sea World, not sure if they are nearby one another. What else is there to do in San Antonio besides Sea World? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

A. No trip to San Antonio is complete without a visit to the Alamo. Be sure to see the IMAX film about the Alamo beforehand, so you'll know all about its history. From there you can walk down to the Riverwalk, where you'll find tons of cool shops and restaurants. A boat ride down the river is lots of fun, too! Have a fun trip!

A. Your best bet would be to call around to various funeral homes and get some quotes. There are a lot of alternatives to a traditional funeral, some of which are quite low cost. A funeral home will also advise you about the regulations/costs involved in transporting a body across international borders.

There is only a couple of foreclosure homes that i have heard of but I have never seen any signs. It is a very diverse and growing city. The only problem is a lot of the highways are undergoing construction but there isn't much traffic except rush hours. I have been to many cities such as Chicago and Detroit and others and I find San Antonio the best.

What's the best location to move in at San Antonio Texas?
Q. I'd be moving into San Antonio and I have 2 little kids. I will be working dowtown, but want to rent in more of a suburban & family oriented setting. I need recommendation on places that have the best elementary public schools that have a reputation for high standards & test achievements, least crime & maximum safety, middle to up-scale neighborhood of educated professionals with access to great shopping, dining, medical, etc. I do not mind driving 10-15 miles to work. I can pay about 700 to 1100 dollars in renting a 2-bed apartment. I would prefer not to live in or about a predominantly hispanic neighborhood.
